As many of you know us teenagers can be a hassle! We like to sleep a lot, eat your food, nag you asking you to drive us places, and as the cherry on top we try to milk some cash out of you too! It's no secret that we are not always the easiest people to deal with, but truly there are just a few things that are vital while asking teens questions about their daily life, or simply conversing with them! But this is just my opinion, after all ;) Enjoy! P.S This list is not going to be accurate with every teenager, but most of us can agree on at least two of these five.
1.) Please don't ask me what I want to be when I'm older.
To be completely honest, as a sophomore in high school-- I still have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do when I 'grow up'. Ill tell you a list of things that I dream to be but most likely I'll never end up being one of them. If you're having trouble conversing with me and want to know about my future, ask me about my current hobbies, favorite sports teams, and even what TV show I watched last night. I promise, we aren't all that scary.
2.) "Wow, I thought you were an adult!"
I really don't want to look like I am 70 when I am 30..so if I look 20 when I am 16 that's not a good thing.
3.) If I look sad it's probably because I'm sad so you should get me food.
I. Love. Food.
4.) Not All Teens Sit At Home All Day..
On Average my teachers (online teachers, as I am homeschooled) ask me each day to study an accumulated 8 hours. Plus my 1 1/2 hour lecture comes to 9 1/2 hours a day. Plus if I still danced that would be 4-6 more hours a day bringing us to 14 1/2 hours a day, plus eating which is approximately 1 1/2 hours of my day, finishing us off at 16 hours a day. Studies show teens need 8 1/2-9 hours of sleep per night. This brings us to 25 hours A DAY...there's only 24 hours in a day. If this addition was repeated for the average public schooled kid, they would need 36 hours in a day to complete everything they need to do and get a healthy amount of sleep. We don't physically have enough allotted hours to sit around and watch TV or Play video games. (Yes, there are always going to be teens who don't study, these are the ones we should pray for).
5.) We don't all think that adults are monsters, who don't know anything and feed off the punished lonely souls of teenagers.
I'd say its about 50/50 on this one actually ;)
